Dr. Ruiz's Statement on Attack on LGBT Leaders in Palm Springs

Washington, DC - Today, Dr. Raul Ruiz (CA-36) released the following statement regarding the attack against community leader George Zander and his partner, Chris Zander:

"George and Chris Zander are leaders in our community who have devoted their lives to standing against hate and bigotry and standing for love, equality, and to end bullying," said Dr. Ruiz. "I condemn the violent attacks on George and Chris and pray for their speedy recovery. Hate crimes against an LGBT individual--or anyone in our community--is a hate crime against our entire community and will not be tolerated. I demand a full criminal investigation. Bullying and hate crimes must end. Please call the Palm Springs police if you have any information that can lead to the arrest of the aggressors."
