Congressman Ruiz Honors Fallen Riverside County Deputies Cordero and Calhoun on House Floor

Washington, D.C. – Today, Congressman Raul Ruiz, M.D. (CA-25) took to the House floor to honor fallen Riverside County Deputies Isaiah Cordero and Darnell Calhoun. Deputies Cordero and Calhoun were tragically shot and killed while serving in the line of duty less than one month apart. To honor their legacies, Congressman Ruiz recorded their life stories in the Congressional Record and called for a moment of silence on the House floor.  

“I ask everyone present on the House floor today to join me in a moment of silence for Deputy Calhoun, Deputy Cordero, their families, and every fallen officer who has answered the call, put their lives on the line, and sacrificed themselves for our safety,” said Dr. Ruiz.
