Congressman Raul Ruiz Statement on Senate Republican Spending Bill and the GOP Health Care Crisis

Palm Desert, CA — Congressman Dr. Raul Ruiz (CA-25), released the following statement regarding reports that Senate Republicans plan to send the House of Representatives a government funding bill that fails to extend the Affordable Care Act (ACA) tax credits:

“Regardless of how the Senate votes, I will continue fighting to lower costs, protect health care, and prevent skyrocketing insurance premiums caused by the expiration of ACA tax credits. Too many people I serve are already struggling with rising costs driven by Trump’s tariff tax on the American people, a worsening economy, and the Republicans’ Big Ugly Law — which makes the largest cuts to Medicaid, hospitals, clinics, and SNAP in our nation’s history, all to fund massive tax breaks for billionaires.”
