Washington, D.C. – Today, Representative Raul Ruiz, M.D. (CA-36) introduced the Cleaning Product Labeling Act of 2017. This bill requires cleaning products sold in the United States to have ingredients listed on both the label and the manufacturer website so families can keep their children safer by choosing cleaning products that fit their needs, and save lives in emergency situations.

Washington, DC – Today, Representative Raul Ruiz, M.D. (CA-36) announced he will co-chair a bipartisan Indian Health Service (IHS) Task Force to examine our nation's Tribal health systems and raise awareness about the challenges it faces. The Task Force, also co-chaired by Republican Representative Markwayne Mullin (OK-2), was created under the House Energy and Commerce Committee and includes 14 members, 7 Democrats and 7 Republicans.

Washington, D.C. - Today Representative Raul Ruiz, M.D. (CA-36), an emergency physician and member of the House Energy and Commerce Committee, released the following statement after voting against the American Health Care Act:

Washington, D.C. – Today Representative Raul Ruiz, M.D. (CA-36), an emergency physician and member of the Energy and Commerce Committee, lead a letter to California Governor Brown urging him to use Proposition 56, "the California Healthcare, Research, and Prevention Tobacco Tax Act of 2016," funds for their intended purpose: tobacco prevention, public health, Graduate Medical Education and Medi-Cal payments. The Governor's recently proposed state budget takes money from Prop 56 and directs it towards the general fund.
