Palm Desert, CA – Today, Representative Raul Ruiz, M.D. (CA-36), a member of the Energy and Commerce Committee, responded to the non-partisan Congressional Budget Office analysis, which found that if the Trump administration refuses to fund Cost Sharing Reductions (CSR) subsidies that help patients pay for co-pays and deductibles, premiums in silver plans would rise by 25 percent by 2020 and market instability would increase.

"I am deeply disappointed to learn that Anthem will be pulling out of the individual health care market in Riverside County, leaving patients with fewer options.

This bill will help millions of Americans afford health care by permanently funding Cost Sharing Reduction (CSR) subsidies and expanding access to more hardworking families. Currently, seven million Americans rely on these critical subsidies to afford out-of-pocket costs, like deductibles and co-payments.
