Washington, D.C. – Today, the American Legion recognized Congressman Raul Ruiz, M.D. (CA-25) with the Distinguished Public Service Award for his leadership in helping pass the Honoring our PACT Act, a historic law to help veterans exposed to burn pits and other toxins receive the health care and benefits they earned, need, and deserve. Dr.
Rep. Raul Ruiz was a sponsor and staunch advocate of the Promise to Address Comprehensive Toxics Act (PACT Act), which became law last August and expands Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) benefits and care for veterans exposed to burn pits and other toxic substances.
Last Wednesday, Feb. 15, officials from the Hemet Global Medical Center and Menifee Global Medical Center met with Congressman Raul Ruiz to discuss the current state of the substance use disorder services.
Hemet Valley Recovery Center (HVRC) and Sage Retreat is located at 371, N. Weston Pl., in Hemet. The facility opened in April 2001.
