Congressman Ruiz Provides Update on Coronavirus, Works to Get County Reimbursed for Costs Associated with Quarantine
Washington, D.C. – Today, Congressman Raul Ruiz (CA-36) attended a briefing for members of Congress on the Coronavirus and updates surrounding the United States' response to the disease. At the briefing, Dr. Ruiz questioned panelists about the role of March Air Reserve Base in the United States' response to the Coronavirus and the reimbursement process for costs to Riverside County associated with the quarantine.
"The bottom line is the Coronavirus still remains very low-risk with low severity in terms of symptoms in the United States," Dr. Ruiz said. "I'm working very hard to get the county reimbursed for their services at March Air Reserve Base working alongside federal agencies. The goal is that March Air Reserve Base won't be a center to quarantine passengers by mid-February."
