Dr. Ruiz Announces 2014 Congressional Art Competition for California's 36th District
Palm Springs, CA – Today, Dr. Raul Ruiz (D-Palm Desert) announced the rules for the 2014 Congressional Art Competition for California’s 36th district and encouraged high school students to submit entries.
“This competition is a great opportunity to showcase our youth and the diverse artistic talent we have right here in the 36th district,” said Dr. Ruiz. “I look forward to highlighting our winning artist’s piece in the halls of Congress.”
Contest Rules
-Open to all high school students who are residents of the 36th Congressional District regardless of where they attend school.
-Public, private, and home-schooled students are invited to participate and encouraged to submit an entry.
-Works of art dimension limits: 28” x 28” x 4”, including the frame.
-All entries will be an original in concept, design and execution.
-The winning artist and his or her family will be invited to a reception at the U.S. Capitol along with the winners from other Congressional Districts from around the country.
-Types of artwork accepted: Paintings, Drawings, Collages, Prints, Mixed media, Computer Generated Art, and Photography.
-All submissions must have a completed Student Information and Release form. Click here for release form.
