Dr. Ruiz Announces Small Business Administration Resource Office to Open in Coachella Valley

June 3, 2015

WASHINGTON D.C. - Today, Dr. Raul Ruiz (D-Palm Desert) announced the Small Business Administration (SBA) will open a local resource office in the Coachella Valley. This office will serve the entirety of the Inland Empire.

"I am pleased the Small Business Administration has chosen to open an SBA office here in our desert. I am proud to have worked with SBA Administrator Maria Contreras-Sweet to help open this office that will provide support for businesses and aspiring entrepreneurs across the Inland Empire," said Dr. Ruiz. "This SBA office will help thousands of people start or expand their small business, creating new, sustainable, good-paying jobs right here in our region. I will continue to work with our business community to be an advocate and help find pragmatic solutions to advance job creation and business expansion."

"The U. S. Small Business Administration's Santa Ana District Office and its funded resource partners have served the Inland Empire for decades. The establishment of an SBA Alternate Work Site in the Coachella Valley reaffirms our commitment to bringing more resources to the region's small business community and we are looking forward to working closely with entrepreneurs to start, grow and succeed," said J. Adalberto Quijada, Director, SBA Santa Ana District Office.

Last August, Dr. Ruiz hosted SBA Administrator Maria Contreras-Sweet in her visit to the Coachella Valley where they met with small business owners and held a small business forum. Dr. Ruiz has been a long time advocate to bring an SBA regional office to the Coachella Valley.
