Dr. Ruiz Secures $17.7 Million in Vital Funding to Improve California’s 25th District Infrastructure

Washington, D.C. – Congressman Raul Ruiz, M.D, (CA-25) announced the inclusion of 15 Community Projects for California’s 25th in the Fiscal Year 2024 spending bills, which were signed by President Biden late Friday night. These 15 Community Projects secure a $17.7 million investment in vital infrastructure needs for the Congressman’s district spanning Needles down to Calexico.

“I am thrilled that all of the Community Projects I advocated for were successfully chosen to be funded! Communities across every corner of my district from San Jacinto to Imperial Valley will benefit from these projects. The impact across my district will be profound, ranging from expanding a shelter for farmworkers, increasing mental health services, and repairing outdated bridges and roads. In championing these projects, I fought for funding that will improve the daily lives of my constituents by making their commutes safer, water cleaner, and environment healthier,” said Dr. Ruiz.

“The City of Indio is extremely excited about the $500,000 being signed law for the Indio Boulevard Pedestrian and Bicycle Improvement Project!   • $1,000,000 for Galilee Center Facility Expansion Project
  • $3,000,000 for City of Imperial-Imperial Corridor Safety Improvement Project
  • $4,116,279 for Imperial County Transportation Commission
  • $871,280 for Imperial Irrigation District- Ninth Street Pipeline Project
  • $500,000 for Oasis Park Community Center Shade Structure
  • $1,000,000 for San Bernardino County Needles Behavioral Health Outpatient Clinic and Recovery Clubhouse Project
  • $500,000 for Soboba Band of Luiseo Indians Septic to Sewer Infrastructure Construction
  • $500,000 for SunLine Transit Agency Battery Capacity for Solar Microgrid
  • $850,000 for Twenty-Nine Palms Band of Mission Indians Dillon Road Improvement Project

Background

For the FY24 Appropriations cycle, Chair Kay Granger (TX-12) and Ranking Member Rosa DeLauro (CT-03) announced that each Member of Congress could submit local community projects for potential funding. In total, Dr. Ruiz secured $17.7 million for projects throughout California’s 25th Congressional District that will improve local infrastructure.
