Dr. Ruiz Statement on Vote for Bipartisan Budget Agreement

WASHINGTON, DC – Today, Dr. Raul Ruiz (D-Palm Desert) released the following statement on the House vote for passage of the bipartisan budget agreement that will fund the federal government for two fiscal years.

“Despite its shortcomings, this budget is a step in the right direction to avert another manufactured crisis. This bipartisan agreement begins to roll back reckless, job killing sequester cuts to defense, medical research, education, infrastructure investments, and other high priority efforts as well as providing certainty to businesses, seniors, and middle class families in the Coachella Valley and across the country.

“I am pleased that both democrats and republicans have been able to work together to find common ground and end the irresponsible practice of governing crisis to crisis.”
