Dr. Ruiz's Statement on Army Veteran Named California Teacher of the Year

Washington, DC - Today, Dr. Raul Ruiz (CA-36) released the following statement regarding Army veteran named California Techer of the Year from Carrillo Ranch Elementary School in Indio:

"I want to congratulate Carrillo Ranch Elementary School's own Michelle Cherland for being named a California Teacher of the Year. She is an Army Veteran, a mother, a teacher and an inspiration for our community," said Dr. Ruiz. "I'm proud to learn of this well-deserved recognition bestowed upon Michelle. I want to thank her for serving our country and for her tireless efforts to teach and guide future generations."
