Ruiz Applauds Historic Proposed Investments in Tribal Health
Washington, D.C. – Today, Congressman Raul Ruiz, M.D. (CA-36) released the following statement on the release of President Biden's budget for Fiscal Year 2022, which includes historic investments for American Indians and Alaska Natives.
"President Biden's budget includes historic investments to strengthen the relationship between the U.S. Government and Tribal nations," Dr. Ruiz said. "For the first time ever, the Biden Administration has proposed advanced appropriations for the Indian Health Service, which in addition to a 36% funding increase, will help drastically improve health outcomes for American Indians and Alaska Natives. I have advocated for this funding for years, and I am pleased to see this priority reflected in the President's budget."
