Washington, D.C. – Today, the U.S. Senate passed legislation authored by Congressman Raul Ruiz, M.D. (CA-36) to take more than 2,500 acres of land in the San Jacinto Mountains into trust for the Agua Caliente Band of Cahuilla Indians. H.R. 897, the Agua Caliente Land Exchange Fee to Trust Confirmation Act, is now headed the President’s desk to become law. Once signed into law, the bill would allow the Tribe to further their conservation efforts and practice consistent forest management.

H.R. 7988 would designate the La Quinta Post Office the “Corporal Hunter Lopez Memorial Post Office Building” and H.R. 9074 would designate the Palm Springs Post Office on North Sunrise Way the “Chairman Richard Milanovich Post Office.”
