Local Congressman Raul Ruiz has been appointed to serve as the Ranking Member of the Select Subcommittee on the Coronavirus Pandemic.

House Democratic Leader Hakeem Jeffries made the announcement on Tuesday.

Ruiz said in a statement he was "honored" to be selected to serve on the subcommittee, especially given his medical background.
